Educated Monkey
First invented in 1916 by William Robertson of Belmont, OH, the Educated Monkey was the precursor to the modern-day calculator. Originating as a toy, the Educated Monkey quickly became an educational aid and novelty item in the 1920's. It is constructed to simplify multiplication tables. Simply move the monkey's feet to any two numbers and his hands will show you the product of the multiplication equation. This nostalgic learning accent is not recommended as a children's toy.
